Board of Advisors
Sreedevi Ashutosh. Born in India, Sree brings hands on knowledge of this market. She is a graduate of the prestigious Kakatiya Institute of Technology in India with a degree in Engineering.
Robert Cronin. As a Managing Director at Bowen Advisors, Bob brings venture capital expertise to Ventures for Hope.
Richard Csaplar. As a retired lawyer, and founder of his own law firm, Dick brings legal and entrepreneurial expertise. He has served on numerous Boards including Boston Rescue Mission (Chairman) and Agape.
Laura Doherty. As Executive Director of Mustard Seed, an international nonprofit that serves children in need in Jamaica, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Zimbabwe, Laura brings nonprofit management experience.
Sandra Edgerley. As one of the acknowledged nonprofit leaders and philanthropists in Boston, Sandy brings deep expertise to the Board of Advisors. She currently serves on 11 boards including Boys and Girls Club Boston, the Boston Foundation and Horizons Initiative.
Gregg Fairbrothers. Gregg is Founding Director of the Dartmouth Entrepreneurial Network (DEN) and a Professor at the Tuck School, Dartmouth. He is also the Founding Chairman of the Dartmouth Regional Technology Center.
Leigh Garry. An attorney, Leigh has served in a variety of fundraising and administrative positions throughout her community in private education, athletics, and church. Board positions have included: The Windward School, Dartmouth College Association of Alumni, Larchmont/Mamaroneck Youth Lacrosse and St. John’s Church.
Charles Hazard. Chip is a Founding Partner of Flybridge Capital Partners, and early-stage technology focused venture capital firm. He serves on the board of 10 for profit companies and is also a member of the Board and Chair of the Finance Committee at Horizons for Homeless Children.
Melanie Kaplan. Melanie brings 17 years experience as the Founder/Owner and Publisher of the highly successful Boston Design Guide.
Rita Koselka. Rita’s 25+ years experience as a journalist and a business consultant includes Director of Marketing for the West Coast, McKinsey and editor of the McKinsey Quarterly. Prior to McKinsey, Rita was a senior editor of Forbes Magazine and Editorial head at the Forbes Conference Group.
William Ledingham. Bill brings ” serial entrepreneurship” experience to the Board. Bill currently serves as a Partner at Common Angels and the Chief Technology Officer at Verdasys. Bill has played major leadership roles in a number of high growth companies in the technology arena including Avalere, Virtual Iron Software, and SpeechWorks and Stratus Computer.
Susan Melnyk. Sue has had a 25+ year career in nonprofit management and development. She currently serves as Resource Development Director for Habitat for Humanity MidOhio. She has also held leadership positions at the Nature Conservancy and Lutheran Outdoor Ministries.
Eric Miller. Eric is Owner/Founder and President of Tiger Presentations, a successful exhibit and display business. Eric brings start-up experience, including working successfully with new technologies, the printing industry and suppliers in a number of developing markets.
Katie Smith Milway. Katie Smith Milway is a partner in Bridgespan’s Boston office and head of the firm’s knowledge group. Prior to joining Bridgespan she was a senior director and founding publisher at Bain & Company, where she built and managed a global team of editors and writers. She is the founder of nonprofit One Hen which provides resources and education to children around social entrepreneurship. She has also served on the management team of nonprofit Food for the Hungry International, coordinating programs in Africa and Latin America and currently serves on the Board of World Vision.
Margery Piercey. Margery brings deep accounting and financial reporting and control experience to the Board. She is a current owner at Wolf & Company, P.C. Prior to joining Wolf & Company, Margery was at PricewaterhouseCoopers. She is past Chair of the Mass. Society of CPAs and current member of the American Institute of CPA’s Governing Council.
Susan Pinto. Susan is part owner of a successful educational consulting business in India. Prior to this, Susan ran her own strategy consulting business and worked at Bain and Company.
Nicholas Roose. Nick is a consultant at Bankable Frontier Associates, a global strategy consulting practice dedicated exclusively to financial inclusion. Previously Nick worked in both Investments and Communications at Accion International, a microfinance NGO, in addition to completing a microfinance fellowship in Indonesia with Kiva.org.
Matthew Russell. Matt has been a successful entrepreneur and investor for many years. Matt has been responsible for and served on the Boards of numerous successful startups including Tendril Software, FabConnect, and VitalSigns Software. Matt was a founder and CEO of Metrix Network Systems, which was acquired by Hewlett Packard. He is a current Director at Lattix, Inc.
Jillian Segal. Jill brings years of direct and web marketing experience to VH. She served as Director of Marketing of Staples Direct and was responsible for millions of catalogs sent annually. Jill also helped found a gift catalog start up.
Joanne Thompson. Joanne brings considerable nonprofit experience as both a Board Member and volunteer. She has worked extensively with Agape, and has served on the Board of JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) as well as let a number of their critical fundraising efforts.
Phyllis Yale. Phyllis Yale has more than 30 years of experience with Bain and Company where she is currently a Senior Advisor. Phyllis ran the Boston office for many years. Phyllis also serves on six boards including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, National Surgical Hospitals, Kindred Healthcare, Value Options, Inc., Cradles to Crayons and the Bridgespan Group.
